One of our favourite songwriters in the UK at the moment, Jess Thristan is back with a new EP, ‘Live on Love’. Simultaneously more light hearted than her previous releases, but also more mature at the same time, it’s another step forward for an impressive talent indeed.
This time around adds subtle flecks to Thristan’s acoustic pop, more elements taking the songs in a country music direction than before, all the while shooting straight in terms of crowd pleasing accessibility. These are songs that you can hear first time and immediately get their feel.
However, listen more, and hidden depths will emerge in both the layering and arrangements and the lyrics too. It all adds up to an EP which will stand the test of time, and makes the next one another release to look forward to.
