Free download for folk fans: Philip Murray Warson – ‘Wild Mountain Thyme’

https://soundcloud.com/philipmurraywarson/wild-mountain-thyme

One of folk’s unsung treasures, ‘Wild Mountain Thyme’ is a track which has been played down the years by many a folkie. This latest iteration, brought to us by singer-songwriter Philip Murray Warson, is a mighty fie version of the track focusing on the raw foundations and presented in stripped back fashion.

Even better, the track is available now as a free download (above), as well as forming part of Warson’s three track EP, available from Bandcamp for just two of your English pounds. Well worth the cash for folk collectors – Philip Murray Warson, much like his chosen track, is one of UK music’s unsung treasures.

Strangers Know More – ‘Shoot the Witness’ stream out now

A band with an obvious love for big genre music of the 80s, Strangers Know More are a three piece of experienced musicians who have been playing in various bands and guises since the 70s. Now, Sam Burnett, Chris Ames and Stuart Mizon bring their biggest influences together under the banner of Strangers Know More – a high velocity punk/rock/new wave mixture with some impressive song writing chops.

Their latest release is the track above, ‘Shoot the Witness’. Taken from a recent album, it has been made available to stream to remind fans what this group are all about. There are live shows coming up, and new material too, which is why it’s a good time to get new ears open in their direction.
